Successful Typographic Solution

This sign was taken in California at the famous Rodeo Drive. This sign is successful for many reasons. Right away I know that this is a pizza restaurant. The overall logo is very well put together with the graphics and the type. The type here that reads ‘Pizza Rustica’’ is in a serif typeface that is place on a curve that is centralized around the graphic in the logo, a tomato. The logo is in an overall circle shape with a square in the middle with the tomato. When you first look at this logo, your eyes go straight to the tomato, but with the edges of the square that is around the tomato, it points up and down so your eyes go straight up to Pizza and then down to Rustica. This shows that the logo’s movement and balance is very well symmetrical. The text is in black on a white background, which is always a good combination o make text stand out. The tomato ads a great aspect to the logo since it is a pizza restaurant, it makes it playful and fun to look at. The age group here is everyone, and everyone can easily understand what this place is.
